In-Hall Meetings

In-Hall meetings occur weekly and take place within your Residence Hall. These meetings are led by the Building’s Hall Director and will follow a campus wide curriculum.

What do we do during an In-Hall?

In-Halls vary by week, but some common activities include:

  • Fun, hands-on group activities
  • Plan social events for your hall
  • Participate in a passion project hosted by you or your peers
  • Plan or participate in community service opportunities
  • Learn about leadership skills from your Lead Hogs Advisor

What do we Cover in Meetings?

Lead Hogs Meetings will Cover the Eight UA Career-Ready Skills to help develop important problem solving skills and pushing students to reach their goals.

Lead Hogs will use personal and professional learning to help students learn their strengths and weaknesses, find new opportunities, and network with people outside of the program.

Students will learn about different leadership styles and their effectiveness in various contexts, find opportunities to lead on campus, and develop skills in motivating a team to achieve common goals.

Lead Hogs will help students practice time management, task prioritization, effective work habits for organizational efficiency, and strengthen both verbal and written communication skills.

Students will learn to analyze complex information in order to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively, demonstrate the ability to consider multiple perspectives and make informed decisions, alongside effectively communicate reasoning behind their decisions.

Lead Hogs will teach students to identify and utilize professional communication channels effectively, learn about different learning styles and how to adapt to them, as well as how to engage in productive discussions.

Students will learn about different backgrounds and how to create accessible practices to ensure everyone feels included, valued, and respected.

Students will be able to effectively utilize a variety of technological tools and platforms to enhance their professional skills, critically evaluate the responsibilities and ethical implications of technology use, as well as, communicate the importance of continuously developing these skills.

Lead Hogs will help students to be able to take ownership of individual and collective tasks, identify conflict management techniques, and develop skills such as reliability, openness, and positive attitude to build trust and rapport with others.
